From the App Launcher, find and select **Benefits**, and confirm that a Benefit record exists for each program that you support.

Your agency defines its own authorization tiers, such as Limited Access, Standard Access, and Full Financial Access. The product doesn't predefine them.

An Authorization Tier Definition can apply to all benefits. Create a Benefit Authorization Tier Definition only when a benefit needs its own tier. Each tier can also relate to Authorization Form Text through Data Use Purpose and Authorization Form, which makes the right consent wording appear at intake. Data Subject on each Authorization Tier Data Use Purpose record decides which consent section a statement appears in.

1. From Setup, in Object Manager, open **Authorization Tier Definition**, select **Fields & Relationships**, and then select **Tier Type**.

If Tier Type has no active values, add or activate one value for each tier that your agency uses.
2. From the App Launcher, find and select **Authorization Tier Definitions**, and create a record for each tier.

Select its Tier Type, and then set Effective Start Date, Effective End Date, and Default Revocation Interval. Default Revocation Interval is the number of days that an authorization lasts before it expires. Salesforce generates the Name field, so a tier's identity is its Tier Type.
3. If a benefit needs its own tier, from the App Launcher find and select **Benefit Authorization Tier Definitions**, and create a record that links that benefit to the Authorization Tier Definition.

Skip this step when a tier applies to all benefits. A benefit can carry more than one tier.
4. From the App Launcher, find and select **Data Use Purpose**, **Authorization Form**, and **Authorization Form Text** in turn.

In each object, create or link the records that carry your consent wording. The consent Omniscripts read their wording from these records, so what you enter is what applicants and representatives see at intake.
5. From the App Launcher, find and select **Authorization Tier Data Use Purposes**, and create one record for each consent statement that a tier presents.

Set Authorization Tier Definition, set Data Use Purpose to the record that carries the statement's text, and set Data Subject to Authorized Representative or Primary Applicant so the statement appears in the matching consent section. If a tier has no Data Use Purpose for Authorized Representative, that consent section doesn't appear.
