# Preview an Approval Workflow

To visualize the approval journey of your submission, add the Approval Workflow component to your record page. The preview sorts steps by their chain name and shows them in their sequence order.

### Required Editions

1. [Add the Approval Workflow Lightning component](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=ind.approvals_lightning_components.htm&language=en_US) to a record page.
    
    After adding the component, verify the approval flow's API name. If the flow API name is incorrect, the preview fails.
2. Open the related record.
3. Click **Preview**.
