# Create a Care Plan Template Task

Tasks are actionable steps a patient can take to achieve a goal and overcome a problem. For a type 2 diabetes patient, a task could be testing blood sugar levels weekly. Each task is assigned to a care team member who makes sure the patient completes the care plan tasks. With a care plan template task, you can easily add predefined tasks for a specific problem to a patient’s care plan. You can create a care plan template task to use in your care plan template, template problem, or template goal.

### Required Editions

Create a template task for a specific care plan template, directly from that template’s related list. You can also create a custom Care Plan Template Tasks tab and add the tab to the Health Cloud custom apps. You can include any additional fields you need to the Care Plan Template Tasks object’s page layout.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition">
        <colgroup>
          <col>
        </colgroup>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">
              <p>Available in: Lightning Experience</p>
              <p style="margin-bottom:0;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> and <strong>Unlimited</strong> Editions with Health
                Cloud</p>
            </td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

1. If you’re creating a template task for a specific template, template problem, or template goal directly, go to that record’s related list. And then click **New** for Care Plan Template Tasks.

    If you’ve created a custom Care Plan Template Tasks tab, go to App Launcher, select the Care Plan Template Tasks tab, and click **New**.
2. Enter the following:

    <table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">

              <col>
