Note Beginning in Summer ’26, Chatter is turned off by default in all new orgs. For any features in these orgs that require access to Chatter functionality or the Chatter APIs, turn on Chatter by going to **Setup** | **Chatter Settings** and selecting **Enable**. For details, see [Chatter Is Turned Off by Default in New Orgs Beginning in Summer ’26](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.collab_chatter_default_off.htm&type=5&language=en_US).

There are a few ways to determine how many people are looking at a Chatter post. There’s the view count, the Seen by count, and the counts you find in the Interaction Count Report. Although there’s crossover in terms of what’s being counted, the counts for a given post can be different for each type. Let’s examine why.

- **[Live Chatter Comments](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.collab_live_comments.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
In Lightning Experience Chatter feeds, comments are live—they appear when they’re posted, without requiring a page refresh.
- **[Mention People and Groups in Chatter](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.collab_feeds_mentions.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
A great way to get someone’s attention or to share a post with a group is to mention them.
- **[Link to a Record from a Chatter Post or Comment](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.collab_feed_slashrecord.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
After a little administrative setup, you can link to a recently viewed record from a Chatter post or comment. In the Chatter publisher, enter a forward slash (/) and start typing the record name. You can link to any record type that’s enabled for your org, such as work records, accounts, opportunities, and cases. Link to up to 25 records in each post or comment.

- **[Topics List](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=experience.collab_topics_overview.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
