# Accept or Decline Private Group Requests

As the owner or manager of a private Chatter group, you can accept or decline requests to join the group.

### Required Editions

1. On a group detail page, click **Request**.
    
    You can also click the link in the email request.
2. Accept or decline the requests.
    
    Salesforce sends an email to each person to inform them that their request was accepted or declined.
    
    If you make a private group public, any pending requests are automatically accepted.
