# Group Files Lists

In Salesforce Classic, the Group Files list shows a group’s recently posted files.

### Required Editions

To see available file options, mouse over the file’s name. To go to a file’s detail page, click the file’s name. To expand the files list, click **Show All**. On the files list you can:

- See a list of all the files that are posted to a group, search for a specific file, and perform actions on a file.
- Search for files that have been posted to the group. The list includes files that you and other people have attached to the Chatter feed on the group.
- Upload private files or upload and share files with people, groups, or via a link.
- Preview a file without downloading it.
- Follow a file and receive updates about it in the Chatter feed. To stop receiving updates about a file, click ![blue X button](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-experience-collaboration-264-0-0-production-enus/1aab5b5e-c990-4b8c-840a-6fb18af49709/collaboration/images/eop_following_on.png) next to the file that you're following (requires Chatter).
- To download, share, get a public link, view file details, upload a new version, edit file details, and delete files, click ![FileActionsArrow](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-experience-collaboration-264-0-0-production-enus/1aab5b5e-c990-4b8c-840a-6fb18af49709/collaboration/images/file_actions_arrow.png).
- To view the file detail page, click a file name.
- To see a file owner’s profile, click the owner’s name.

Note

- You can’t preview files larger than 25 MB, unknown file types, password-protected files, and copy-protected PDFs. For files that you can’t preview, the **Preview** option isn’t available on feeds or list views, and files appear as generic file type icons in the feed. Some Microsoft Office 2007 features don’t display correctly in previews. If a file can be previewed, but a preview doesn’t exist, contact your Salesforce admin to request to regenerate the preview.
- Files without a file extension or with an unrecognized file extension show “unknown” in the Type column.
