# Share a Chatter Post to Your Profile

In Salesforce Classic, copy a public Chatter post to your profile to share it with the people who follow you.

In Salesforce Classic, you can share public Chatter posts, but you can’t share feed tracked items and custom feed items. Examples of custom feed items include approvals, dashboard snapshots, and case interactions.

Note Depending on their Chatter email notification settings, when you share a post, the person who posted the original is notified. In Lightning Experience, the person who posted the original isn’t notified. The email notification setting applies only to posts shared in Salesforce Classic.

1. In Chatter, go to the post you want to share.
2. Click **Share**.
3. From the dropdown list, select **My Followers**.
4. Optionally, write a comment about the post.
5. Click **Share**.
    
    The shared post appears in the Chatter feed on your profile.
