# Chatter Feed Search Results

Searches in Chatter feeds return the posts and comments that include your search terms. These results are the same whether your search is global or feed-level.

Changes to record fields aren't included in search results. For example, imagine that you have enabled feed tracking on the Billing Address field for the Acme account. Then you modify the Acme billing address. Search results for Acme don't include _Acme — Suzanne Powell changed Billing Street to 10 Main Road._

You can perform many of the same actions in your feeds search results as you can in a feed.

- Sort your search results by posts only or by posts and comments.
- Comment on, like, share, bookmark, and delete posts.
- Add, edit, or delete topics on posts.
- Follow, share, download, preview, and upload new versions of files.
- View the detail pages for Chatter files, groups, topics, and people by clicking the respective name in the update.
- View a single feed update by clicking the timestamp below the update, for example, **Yesterday at 12:57 AM**.
- On the Chatter tab in Salesforce Classic, click **Add to Favorites** to save a Chatter feed search to your favorites.

In Salesforce Classic, to view search results for records, such as accounts, contacts, people, groups, topics, and files, click **Records** at the top left of the page. In Lightning Experience, you can focus in on one type of object by clicking that object name in the left column of search results. To view results for various objects, click **Top Results**.

Tip For a more focused search of the feeds in a specific group, profile, record, or other Chatter feed, use fedd search.

Salesforce supports hyperlinks and entity links, but only hyperlinks are searchable. An entity link is a user at-mention or a record slash-mention. An easy way to tell if a link is a hyperlink or entity link is to hover over the link in a post. If a hover card pops up with details about the user or record, then it’s an entity link. If there’s no hover card but instead a tooltip with the link url, then it’s a hyperlink.
