# Create a New Asset File

Create an asset file from the Asset Library in Files home.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Lightning Experience</td></tr><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: Available in: <strong>Group</strong>, <strong>Professional</strong>, <strong>Enterprise</strong>, <strong>Performance</strong>, <strong>Unlimited</strong>, <strong>Contact Manager</strong>, and <strong>Developer</strong> Editions</td></tr></tbody></table>

Salesforce admins and community managers have access to the Asset Library by default. Standard users who are members of the Asset Library can also create asset files.

1. From Files home, go to **Libraries** | **Asset Library**.
2. Click **Upload Asset File**. The file selector opens to let you upload a new file or select an existing file to make into an asset.
3. After you select a file, a dialog window displays these fields:

    <table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small ">

            </colgroup>
            <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
