# Update Database Configuration for Zero Copy Data Streams

When deploying a data kit that contains zero copy data streams, you can update the target database, schema, or table after deployment to match your target environment.

### Required Editions

This allows you to promote configurations across environments (sandbox to production) where each environment points to different schemas or tables without recreating the data stream.

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small permission">
        <colgroup>
          <col style="width:50%">
          <col style="width:50%">
        </colgroup>
        <thead class="slds-text-title_caps ">
          <tr class="">
            <th scope="colgroup" class="slds-cell-wrap" colspan="2" style="text-align:center;vertical-align:top;" id="d88537e38">User
              Permissions Needed</th>
          </tr>
        </thead>
        <tbody>
          <tr class="">
            <td data-label="User Permissions Needed" class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d88537e38 ">To update database configurations</td>

            <td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;" headers="d88537e38 ">
              <p>Permission set: </p><a name="c360_update_db_schema_after_deployment__ul_hph_ylx_rjc"><!-- --></a>
              <ul id="c360_update_db_schema_after_deployment__ul_hph_ylx_rjc">
                <li>Data Cloud Architect</li>

              </ul>
            </td>

          </tr>
        </tbody>
      </table>

1. In Data 360, go to the **Data Streams** tab.
2. Next to the deployed zero copy data stream, from the dropdown, select **Edit Data Stream**.
3. In the Database Configuration section, update the Target Database, Schema, and Table to match your environment.
4. Click **Save**.

    Data 360 validates that the new target has the same schema definition as the original. If the schema differs, the operation fails.
