# Map Your Communication Capping Activation Targets to Parameters

To apply communication capping to an activation target, you must map the targets to the parameters.

### Required Editions

1. In Data Cloud, click **Activation Targets**.
2. Select the activation target.
3. In the Map Target to Parameters section, click **Add**.
4. Select the parameters such as channel, department, and city.
5. Click **Save**.

When you create the activation for communication capping activation targets, the mapped parameters are displayed in the Activation Summary.

After mapping the targets to parameters, create customer segments and activate them to the communication capping activation targets.
