# Data Graphs

A data graph brings together structured data from your Data Model Objects (DMOs) in Data 360. It combines this data to create easy-to-use views of your information.

Because data in a data graph is preprepared, you can get the information you need in fewer steps. This means your data requests and queries show results almost instantly. Real-time data graphs are crucial for powerful features such as:

- [Real-time identity resolution](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_identity_resolution_match_type_compare.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Identity resolution can perform two types of ruleset runs: scheduled or real-time. They differ in how and when the two types of ruleset runs are performed, and how they interact with other features.")
- [Real-time calculated insights](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_insights.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "With insight features, you can define and calculate multidimensional metrics from your entire digital state stored in Data 360.")
- [Real-time segmentation](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_create_a_realtime_segment.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create a real-time segment that completes on demand in milliseconds. To make the segment available in your real-time data graph, add the Segment ID and Timestamp fields from the segment membership DMO object to the real-time data graph. You can’t use a real-time segment with exclusion criteria and nested batch segments. You also can't use segment counts and manual publish with a real-time segment.")

To build a data graph, choose the specific fields you want to combine from your existing DMOs. Data 360 then collects and changes these chosen fields into a single, read-only data graph record. This record puts all the combined data into one JSON blob.

You can see your data graphs in Salesforce Lightning Experience using [Data Explorer](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_explorer.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "With Data Explorer, you can validate data lake objects, data model objects, calculated insights, and data graphs to ensure that your data and formulas are accurate.") and [Query Editor](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_query_editor.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "With the Data 360 Query Editor, you can directly query harmonized customer data using Data 360 SQL (Structured Query Language). You can build queries on Data Lake Objects (DLOs), Data Model Objects (DMOs), Calculated Insights Objects (CIOs), and data graphs."). You can directly query your data graph using the [Data 360 Metadata API](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/data/data-cloud-query-guide/references/data-cloud-query-api-reference/c360a-api-metadata-api.html) and [Query API](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/data/data-cloud-query-guide/references/data-cloud-query-api-reference/c360a-api-data-graphs-overview.html). You can also use this combined data in other Salesforce applications and operations.

- **[Data Graph Data Structures](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_graph_data_structures.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Understand the underlying components of a data graph so that you can create and use data graphs effectively.
- **[Billing Considerations for Data Graphs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_billing_considerations_for_data_graphs.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use of data graphs impacts the consumption of credits in these usage types. A data graph creates a transform at the backend and hence reflects under the respective usage type in Digital Wallet.
- **[Data Graph Statuses](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_graph_status.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Each data graph has two separate statuses: a status for metadata and a last run status for materialized data. These statuses work together to provide you with insight into the current configuration and refresh state of a data graph. Use them to monitor the data graph's lifecycle in Data Cloud, identify any issues, and determine if the data graph is ready for querying or further updates.
- **[Build and Manage Data Graphs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_build_and_manage_data_graphs.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create and manage data graphs in Data 360. You can view a data graph using the Data 360 user interface or an API.
- **[Advanced Configuration for Data Graphs](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_adv_conf_data_graphs.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
In Data 360, advanced configuration for data graphs allows you to customize the data graph beyond the default settings.
