# Map Data for a Clean Room Use Case

Create a mapped template to save your data mappings for a specific use case. You can create a template before a clean room collaboration is active. You can also map your data while creating a collaboration or accepting an invitation to collaborate.

### Required Editions

<table class="slds-table slds-table_bordered slds-max-medium-table_stacked slds-m-bottom_small edition"><colgroup><col style="width:100%"></colgroup><tbody><tr class=""><td class="slds-cell-wrap" style="vertical-align:top;">Available in: <strong>Enterprise</strong> Edition (home org)</td></tr></tbody></table>

Note If the user segments that you want to associate with the clean room aren’t created, see [Prepare Your Data for a Clean Room](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_crc_prepare_data.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To share segments in a clean room, complete these steps to prepare your data. Preparation includes required steps such as ingesting the data, mapping the data lake object (DLO) to a data model object (DMO), hashing fields to protect personal information, and creating segments. You can share segments only in a clean room.").

If you’re a provider using AWS clean rooms, see [Preparing data tables for queries in AWS Clean Rooms](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/clean-rooms/latest/userguide/prepare-data.html). If you’re a consumer mapping your data to collaborate with an AWS-based provider, see [Data types](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/clean-rooms/latest/sql-reference/s_Supported_data_types.html) for more information on permitted data types.

1. In Data 360, on the Clean Rooms tab, under Mapped Templates, click **New**.
2. Select your role for the use case that you’re mapping data for.
3. Select the use case.
4. Select a data space and the data model object.
5. Click **Next**.
6. For each attribute, click the edit icon and select the attribute to map to the data model object field.
7. Select the path for the attribute.

The path length determines the time needed to process the query results. To save time, use the shortest path. Only select a longer path if the query must run through other DMOs or tables.
8. Click **Save**.
9. To map to a subset of an attribute, apply a filter. Applying a filter is recommended for large datasets.
    1. Click the mapping field’s filter icon.
    2. Select the operator, and enter a value for the filter.
    3. Click **Save**.
10. After mapping all the fields, click **Next**.
11. Name the template and add an optional description.
12. Click **Save**.

Note If you’re mapping data for identity boost, you must share personally identifiable information (PII) in unhashed form with the identity provider. Identity boost doesn’t use hashing because address normalization variations (for example, different abbreviations of the same street address) produce different hash values, which reduces match quality. Before mapping your data, make sure that you have all required consumer consents and that you comply with applicable data usage agreements and privacy regulations. Data processing can occur outside your Salesforce region.
