# Clean Room Consumers

Consumers are advertisers seeking insights from providers’ data to find appropriate audiences for their products. To initiate a clean room collaboration, deploy a clean room package from AppExchange, or allowlist a provider. If you allowlist a provider, you don’t need the clean room package to initiate a clean room collaboration. Use the Salesforce-provided collaboration template to initiate the collaboration.

In an Enterprise Edition home org, [create a collaboration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_crc_create_collaboration.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "To initiate a collaboration in a Data 360 clean room, you first create a collaboration. You can use an existing collaboration template to map your data or create one. When you save the collaboration, an invite is sent to the provider.") to invite a provider. When you save a collaboration, the provider automatically receives an invitation to the collaboration. After the provider accepts the invitation, run permitted queries on the combined dataset. A DMO stores the query results. You can’t receive or accept collaboration invitations in Developer Edition.

Note Allowlisting isn’t available if your provider uses AWS Clean Rooms. An AWS collaboration always starts with a clean room package, so deploy the package from AppExchange instead.

## Collaborate with an AWS Clean Rooms Provider

If your provider uses AWS Clean Rooms instead of Data 360, you still manage your entire side of the collaboration in Data 360. The differences are on the provider’s side. See [Collaborating with an AWS Clean Rooms Provider](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_crc_collaborate_with_aws_provider.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "As a consumer using Data 360 clean rooms, you can initiate collaborations with a provider who uses AWS Clean Rooms. AWS-based providers use Data 360 once to create and publish the clean room package, then complete every other action in AWS Clean Rooms. Consumers manage their side of the collaboration entirely in Data 360.").
