Note

As of October 14, 2025, Data Cloud has been rebranded to Data 360. During this transition, you may see references to Data Cloud in our application and documentation. While the name is new, the functionality and content remains unchanged.

Build reusable Data 360 configurations and share them across orgs to accelerate deployment, ensure consistency, and reduce manual setup time. Whether you're moving from sandbox to production, distributing solutions to customers, or standardizing features across multiple orgs, Data 360 provides flexible packaging and deployment options.

## What You Can Build and Share

Package and deploy Data 360 components by using:

- **Data kits**: Bundle data streams, data model objects, calculated insights, segments, activations, and other Data 360 features for deployment across orgs.
- **Managed packages**: Create installable packages that include Data 360 functionality for distribution to customers on AgentExchange.
- **Sandboxes**: Use a Data 360 sandbox to test data ingestion, modeling, identity resolution, and activation workflows without affecting your production org. Sandboxes provide isolated environments for development, training, and validation. Sandbox usage consumes production org credits at discounted multiplier rates.
- **Scratch orgs**: Use a Data 360 scratch org to build and test Data 360 configurations alongside your core CRM metadata in an isolated, disposable environment.
- **External activation platforms**: Package activation targets and connectors for third-party destinations.

- **[Packaging in Data 360](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_packaging_in_customer_360_audiences.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
A package can contain small individual components or a large set of related apps. You create a data kit with the packageable features and add the data kit to a package. You can distribute this package to other Salesforce users and orgs, including people outside your company.
- **[Code Extension](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_code_extension.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Bring your custom Python code into Data 360 to extend Data 360's native capabilities by using code extension. If the native Data 360 features don't meet your business requirements, deploy your custom logic to supported Data 360 features.
- **[Data Kits](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_package_kits.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use a data kit in Data 360 to streamline package creation and installation. You can manage all packageable Data 360 features in the data kit. You can create data stream bundles and also include data model customization and relationships.
- **[External Activation Platforms](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_build_external_activation_platforms.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Create and package an External Activation Platform to determine file formatting, required data details, or where to publish the files during activation. Share your package on AppExchange or provide the package URL generated in Package Manager for Data 360 admins to install.
- **[Data 360 in a Sandbox](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_cloud_sandbox.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use a Data 360 sandbox to test data ingestion, modeling, and identity resolution without affecting live customer profiles. A sandbox provides a secure testing environment by copying metadata from your production Data 360 org. Sandbox usage consumes credits from your production org.
- **[White-label and Distribute a Connector](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_data_cloud_connector_framework.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5)**
Use the metadata-based Data Cloud Connector Framework to package and white-label an existing connector, improving the discoverability of your product. To white-label a connector and distribute it, you configure a Salesforce project before publishing the managed package to AppExchange.
