# Boolean Functions for Formulas

To ensure data consistency, use a boolean function.

## `to_boolean`

Converts a value of True or False or the values 1 (True) and 0 (False) to a boolean value.

### Syntax

```
to_boolean(field)
```

### Parameters

- field—(Required) the field to be converted to a boolean.

### Returns

A boolean value.
