1. On the Activations tab, click **New**.
2. Select the **API Activation**, and click **Next**.
3. Select a data space.
4. For the ID Membership, select Individual or Unified Individual data model object (DMO). You must use a segment with the same DMO when you use this API activation in Flow.
5. Select an activation target.
6. For Activation Membership, select either the Individual or Unified Individual data model object (DMO). The DMOs listed are based on the ID Membership you selected.
7. Click **Continue**.
8. Configure the remaining activation steps depending on your selected activation target. See the respective activation target help in [Activation for Data 360 Segments](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=data.c360_a_activation_targets.htm&type=5&language=en_US).
9. Save the activation. An API activation runs every 24 hours.

Use this API activation in a segment-triggered flow or an activation-triggered flow in Flow Builder and add the Send to Data 360 Activation action.

An API can be linked to one active flow. You can delete an activation only when the flow is in the Draft or Completed state. You can’t delete an activation if the flow is in Activated or Scheduled (for recurring flows) state.
