## Core Platform

## Capture Customer Information on Returns

What it does: You can now capture customer information for both online and offline returns so you never miss a clienteling moment

![The Return Customer Info window in the POS App.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_pos_settings_return_customer_info_layout.png)

How to configure:

1. Create a Customer Information Layout (refer to [this article](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_pos_settings_customer_info_sales.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure a layout to show customer information such as name, email address, address, and other details to show associates in the Point of Sale (POS) app during a sale.")).
2. In CMS, go to **Store Management > Store Settings > Clienteling** to customize the Customer Information Layout Mappings.
3. Edit the setting, "**Customer Information Capture Configuration (customerInfoConfig)**".
4. Select a layout for the **Transaction Type of Return**. This store setting functions similarly to the app configuration setting "**Customer Info Layout (CustomerInfoLayoutID)**." From app builds 10.3.1 onwards, it's advised to use the **Customer Information Capture Configuration (customerInfoConfig) instead**.
5. Optionally, turn on "**Customer Info Required for Receipt Return**" to mandate customer information for receipted returns. Select a layout for Return to turn on this setting.
6. Optionally, turn on "**Customer Info Required for No Receipt Return (NRR)**" to mandate customer information for nonreceipted returns. Select a layout for Return to turn on this setting.![The Customer Information Layout Mappings Configuration section of Point of Sale CMS with the No Receipt Return setting turned on.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_pos_settings_cust_info_sales_nrr.png)

Customize a layout so that Point of Sale (POS) app users can see the information during the return process, including customer name and email address.")

## Verifying Starting Till Amounts

What it does: Set minimum and maximum cash alert limits to prevent incorrect starting till amounts from being entered, creating issues in closing downstream.

![The POS app showing the Amount Outside Default Range window for the till. Select Accept or Re-enter.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_pos_operations_create_till_after_1031.png)

How to configure:

1. In CMS, go to **Store Management > Store Settings > Store Register**.
2. Under "**Default Till Range for Starting Till Amount (StartingTillRange)**", select the pencil icon to edit this setting.
3. Set the minimum and maximum amounts. This is an optional setting. If no amounts are set, the app won't check against the entered starting cash amount.
4. Set and save your changes.

## Omni

## Customize Credit Refund Policies

How to configure:

1. In CMS, go to **Store Management > Return Policy Configuration**.
2. Under "**Refund Processing Policies for Credit Cards**", edit a policy for the order type. In-store, Endless Aisle, and Mixed Cart orders are placed in-store. Endless aisle orders are online orders placed in-store. Web Order refers to ecommerce orders placed outside Salesforce.![The Refund Processing Policies for Credit Cards settings in Point of Sale CMS.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_releases_bfs_refund_policies_1.png)
3. On the next screen, select a processor under Refund Processor. For more information on available processor types, refer to Refund System Options.![Salesforce as the Refund Processor in Point of Sale CMS.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_releases_bfs_refund_policies_2.png)
4. Save your changes.

You can also support unreferenced refunds in the POS app.")

## Serialized Products at Checkout

What it does: Support serialized products for all in-store fulfillment types. If a serialized product is added to the cart, users are prompted to enter or scan its serial number.

![The Serialized Products display at checkout in the POS app.](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-retail-264-0-0-production-enus/17d647fb-8988-49fb-9add-c4f4cc79c9e4/retail/images/rt_releases_bfs_serialized_prod.png)

How to configure:

1. Configure Product Feed - Serialized products are configured through the [Product Feed](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_adv_config_data_feeds_specs_product.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create a robust user experience in the POS app by viewing product details such as search results and filters.")
2. In the Product Feed, for each serialized product, create a dedicated boolean column indicating whether serialization is required. Products marked **True** require a serial number for in-store checkout. You can label this column as needed, as is later be mapped to the **SerialNumberRequired** field on the Product Field Mappings. A [Sample Feed](https://resources.docs.salesforce.com/rel1/doc/en-us/static/misc/CSV_Sample_ProductFeed.csv) is provided for reference.
3. Upload the feed manually or schedule it.
4. Configure Product Field Mappings—Validate serialized products on the POS app by configuring [Field Mappings](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_adv_config_data_feeds_manage_overview.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "The raw columns or attributes inside the feed file are transformed and mapped onto fields that the Point of Sale backend understands.")
5. After successfully uploading the feed, configure Field Mappings in the CMS by going to **Feeds > Field Mappings > Products**.
6. Locate the serialized column under **Source Field** and map it to "**SerialNumberRequired**" under **Target Fields**.
7. Save your changes.
