Inventory Receiving

Inventory receiving methods enable stores to track and manage incoming merchandise efficiently. Blind receiving allows the addition of items to store inventory without an ASN, while store-to-store transfers optimize inventory levels based on demand. Corporate-initiated transfers and advanced shipping notices (ASN) provide centralized control and streamline the receiving process from warehouses or suppliers.

Blind Receiving

Stores sometimes will source merchandise locally or may receive a shipment without ASN. To receive such items and add to store inventory the “Blind Receive” feature is used. Stores will be able to perform blind receive using the POS application itself. Refer to Inventory Management - Blind Receiving to learn how to configure and use Blind Receiving features.

Store to Store Transfer

Store can also initiate store to store transfer right from the POS itself. This is useful if stores see sudden surge in demand and stores can optimize inventory levels across each other to ensure customers are served properly by having enough items on hand. Refer to Inventory Management - Store to Store Transfers to learn more about this feature.

Corporate Initiated Transfer

Merchant corporate team can initiate a store to store transfer by sending a “corp transfer order” via a file feed or via an API call to Point of Sale Platform. This will trigger a workflow in POS where one store will ship products to another store. This can be triggered via Point of Sale CMS as well. This feature is useful as the corporate team has visibility across all the stores and can optimize inventory level at different stores based on consumer demand and rate of product sale. Refer to Inventory Management - Corporate Transfer to learn how to configure and receive corporate transfers.

Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) Based

ASN feature allows a store to receive merchandise from a warehouse or an outside supplier. The receiving personnel will be able to review transfers that are in transit and receive transfers that are delivered. Receiving can be completed by scanning pallet labels, carton labels,or product UPC tags. Once received merchandise will be added to the store inventory and will be available for sale. Refer to Inventory ASN Receiving to learn how to configure and receive ASN-based inventory transfers.
