# Tender Business and Personal Checks in the POS App

The POS app supports both personal and business checks as a tender type. For business checks, only the check amount and check number are required. For personal checks, users can turn on or disable verification. If verification is enabled, all fields—routing number, check number, account number, check amount, and license details—must be entered. If disabled, only the check number, check amount, and license details are required.

To add personal and business checks as a tender type, see [Multitendering in the POS App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_pos_checkout_multitender_config.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Accept payments across multiple credit cards and other tenders in a single transaction. Configure the supported tenders and customize their display order in your POS app.").

Business checks don't trigger any payment system or check validation service. They only need the check amount and check number to be entered in the POS app, and all other fields are optional.

Validate personal checks based on the CMS configuration. If validation is required, a payment gateway must be integrated with UTA as the only currently supported service. See [Payment Gateway Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_adv_config_pay_gate_config.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure payment gateways in Point of Sale CMS to securely process customer payments. By connecting preferred payment providers, you streamline transactions and enhance the customer checkout experience. Accept a variety of payment methods, reduce friction, and improve overall sales efficiency.").

1. Enable Personal Check Validation

This feature is only available for app builds 10.4.1 or greater.

    1. In CMS, go to **Store Management** | **Store Settings** | **Payment**.
    2. Expand **Advanced**.
    3. Turn on the flag, User Personal Check Validation.
    4. Save your changes.
2. Tender Checks in the POS app.

To support check tender offline, disable usePersonalCheckValidationService.

    1. With products in the cart, tap the Multitender deep link.
    2. On the Multitender screen, next to Check, tap **Add**.
    3. Select the check type, fill out the details, then tap **Apply**:

    - Personal: If verification is turned on, fill out all fields, including routing number, check number, account number, check amount, and license details.
    - Business: Enter the check number and amount. All other fields are optional.

Reporting

All check details, including check number, amount, and license details are recorded in the TLogs under the attributes: paymentDetails and tenders.
