# Configure a Payment Gateway for PBL in POS

Configure a payment gateway to support Point of Sale's Pay by Link functionality. PBL works with Adyen and Verifone payment gateway terminals.

Modern POS App Build:

- Adyen: Version 7.13.5 (Version 9.8.1 required for multi-tendering)
- Verifone: Version 10.0.1
- Platform Support: iPad & iPhone
- Offline Support: Not supported

## Configure Adyen Payment Gateway

If you’re using Verfione, skip this section and proceed to Configure Adyen Payment Gateway.

Prerequisites:

- Configured Adyen company account with callback URL as specified in the Adyen Payment Configuration. See [Adyen Payment Configuration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_hardware_ayden_gateway_info.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "You can configure different payment gateways at the store level, such as store-level settlements, reporting, and currency requirements and integrate Adyen into Point of Sale.").
- Configured CMS Adyen Payment Gateway.
- For in-store Pay by Link (PBL), ensure one Adyen CMS payment gateway is configured with the following default values: FulfillmentType: DEFAULT, StoreId: DEFAULT, PaymentMethod: CreditCard, DeviceId: DEFAULT.
- To turn on multi-tendering with remote Pay by Link (PBL), configure and turn it on in the Adyen portal.

1. In CMS, go to **Integrations** | **Payment Gateways**.
2. Edit the **Adyen Payment Gateway**.
3. Go to **Pay By Link Settings** and configure these fields:
    - Pay By Link Base URL: Enter the PBL endpoint by referring to [Adyen](https://docs.adyen.com/unified-commerce/pay-by-link/create-payment-links/api/#create).
    - Pay by Link URL Expiration in Hours: Enter the expiration time of the payment links. Although it is recommended to set the value at a minimum of 24 hours with a max of 1,680 (70 days), you may set it lower as needed. The minimum value is 1 hour. This configuration setting applies to the POS platform. You must also set the same expiration value in your Adyen account to ensure the values match between the POS configuration and your Adyen account settings.
    - Send Store ID to Adyen: If enabled, the POS will send the store details in the payload when a payment link is created. The store ID (provided via CMS store feed) must match the Adyen store ID. This field can be found in your Adyen console under **In-store payments** | **Stores**.

## Configure Verifone Payment Gateway

These settings for enabling PBL for Verifone are supported in app builds 10.0.1 or later. To turn on PBL for Verifone, you must set up the settings under Pay By Link Configuration. You must also set up the Connectivity and Authentication settings.

- Configured Verifone company account
- Configured CMS Verifone Payment Gateway

1. In CMS, go to **Integrations** | **Payment Gateways**.
2. Edit the **VerifonePSDK Payment Gateway**.
3. Go to **Pay By Link Configuration** and configure these required fields.
    - Organization ID: Enter the merchant organization ID, which is unique for each store. This value can be found in your Verifone portal by going to "Administration > Organization Company and Sites". Select the company or organization site from the table list and copy the "Organization ID".
    - Pay By Link Base URL: Enter the base URL used to construct the Pay by Link URL for making Verifone API requests. See [Verifone Getting Started](https://verifone.cloud/docs/online-payments/getting-started).
    - Pay By Link Expiration in Hour: Enter the expiration time for created checkout links. The minimum is one hour and the maximum is 1,680 hours.
    - Token Scope ID: Enter the token scope ID to be used to tokenize card details. This value can be found in your Verifone portal by going to "Administration > Organization Company and Sites". Select the company or organization site from a table list and copy the "Token Scope". Note, this value can only be found if an admin user is logged in.
    - Credit Card Payment Contract ID: Enter the credit card payment contract ID to be sent in API request for card configuration. This value can be found in your Verifone portal by going to "Administration > Payment Provider Contracts". Edit a contract and go to "Payment Provider Contract ID value".
    - Gift Card Payment Contract ID: Enter the gift card payment contract ID to be sent in API request for card configuration. This value can be found in your Verifone portal by going to "Administration > Payment Provider Contracts". Edit a contract and go to "Payment Provider Contract ID value".
    - 3-D Secure Contract ID: Enter the 3-D Secure Contract ID, which is needed to secure payments in European countries where it is mandated. This field is optional for all other regions. This value can be found in your Verifone portal by going to "Administration > 3DS Contracts". Select the company or organization site from the table list and copy the "3-D Secure Contract ID".
    - Google Pay: If enabled, Google Pay can be used for PBL.
    - Apple Pay: If enabled, Apple Pay can be used for PBL.
4. Go to **Connectivity and Authentication** and configure these required fields:
    - User ID: Enter user ID to be used in API request for authentication. This user ID will be the admin of the merchant site organization for which pay by links will be created. This value can be found in your Verifone portal, click on API Keys under Profile and click on the first four letters of the API Key from the list. Copy the User ID.
    - API Key: API key will be used in API request for authentication and will be created from the user ID in Verifone portal. This value can be found when creating a new API key. It is recommended to copy and save the key as closing the dialogue after creating the key doesn't fully show the key again. API key has an expiration date and must be renewed on the Verifone portal. Users will receive email notifications from Verifone when the API key is about to expire.

After configuring a Verifone gateway, set up notifications via Verifone so that Point of Sale can receive authorization and sale approval/decline updates. This enables Point of Sale to update the status of pending remote pay by link transactions, which are initially in a pending state by default. To learn how to set up the notifications, see [Configuring Notifications for Verifone](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_hardware_configuring_notifications_verifone.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Use Verifone Central Notifications in Point of Sale to receive transaction status updates and automate business processes, such as order management and report downloads.").
