# Applying Manual Discounts & Price Corrections in POS App

Efficiently manage pricing adjustments and errors at checkout using manual discounts and price corrections in the POS app. Discounts can be applied, for instance, to damaged items. You can also set checks and manager approval rules to limit the changes that associates can make. Configure these settings in CMS before using them in the POS app.

## Prerequisites

- Modern POS App Build: 8.9.1 or higher
- Platform Support: iPhone & iPad
- Offline Support: Yes
- Configure [Reason Codes](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_settings_reason_codes.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure reason codes in Point of Sale (POS) to track the reasons behind actions, such as discounts or inventory adjustments.") for discounts made on the app.

## Known Issues & Restrictions

- When an item's fulfillment type is changed from in-store to online (for example ship to home) or vice versa, any existing price overrides or discounts will be removed from the cart at the item level. This doesn't apply to cart overrides/discounts. After the reset, reapply the price override/discount.
- Though price corrections are recorded in the TLogs as "PRICE\_CORRECTION", manager overrides aren't.
- Any existing promotions or discounts will be applied to the corrected price of a product. The price override doesn't exclude these promotions or discounts, but rather they'll be applied on top of the new price.
