# Configure Deposits at Item Level for POS

Customize deposit percentages within the POS app to meet specific business needs. Configure rules in CMS for different store types and define requirements based on product attributes or specify that fulfillment and shipping methods require full payment. Deposit details are clearly displayed in the POS app, including during returns and order edits, ensuring transparency and control over payment options.

- POS App Build: 10.1.1 or greater
- Platform Support: Ipad & iPhone
- Offline Support: No
- Support Payment Gateways: Adyen

Adyen AMS1 and M450 terminals are supported for app builds 10.5.1 or greater.

## Turn On Deposits

1. In CMS, go to **Store Management** | **Store Settings** | **Payment**.
2. Expand **Advanced**.
3. Turn on the flag, Allow Orders To Be Placed With Partial Payment/Deposits (allowPartialPayments).

## Configure Default Deposits

Configure default deposits based on store type. Only one configuration is allowed per store type.

1. In CMS, go to **Store Management** | **Deposit Configuration**.
2. Click **Create**.
3. Under Store Type, select the type of store for this deposit configuration (for example Regular or Outlet).
4. Under Default Deposit Percentage, configure a default deposit percentage for products not defined in advanced deposits.

For example, entering 100% means full payment will be required by default.

## Configure Advanced Deposits

Configure deposit rules based on product attributes.

1. In CMS, go to Advanced Deposit Percentage Based on Product Attribute.
2. Under Product Attribute, select a product attribute to apply a deposit rule (e.g., ProductID).
3. Under Deposit Rules, enter an attribute value (for example 3661601594847).
4. Enter the deposit percentage for the product attribute and its value (for example 75%).
5. (Optional) To enforce deposit collection before completing an order, turn on the flag Deposit Must Be Collected to Complete Order. If this flag is disabled, the deposit amount still displays to the customer on the POS app but as a suggestion.

## Configure Full Payments

Configure fulfillment and shipping methods that require full payment.

1. In CMS, go to Scenario(s) When Deposit is Not Allowed.
2. Under Deposit isn’t allowed for selected fulfillment type(s), select the fulfillment types that require full payment (for example, In Store). See [Omnichannel (V2) Overview](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_modules_omnichannel_v2_overview.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Integrate shopping experiences across channels with Point of Sale's Omnichannel.").
3. Under Deposit is not allowed for selected shipping method ID(s), select the shipping method IDs that require full payment. See [Shipping Methods Management](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_modules_shipping_methods_management.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Create different types of shipping methods for orders and transitions in Point of Sale CMS.").

## Configure Tokenized Deposits

For Adyen terminals, merchants can opt to tokenize deposit orders made with credit cards or Tap to Pay. If the deposit total is less than the order total and tokenization is configured, the cart will be tokenized. After a customer pays on the terminal (by inserting a credit card), a tokenized value for that credit card is created for the order. This tokenized value allows merchants to make additional payments later (payments against the remaining balance). You can find this information in the TLogs after an order is placed. Note: Tokens are stored per merchant account by default. Token groups can be created under a company account if you want to have multiple merchant accounts to share tokens. Reach out to your Adyen Support team to turn on token groups.

1. In CMS, go to **Integrations** | **Payment Gateways**.
2. Create or edit an Adyen configuration.
3. Go to **Terminal Configuration** | **Payment Tokenization Events** then select **Deposits**.
