# Certify Legacy Printers

Conduct validation tests across all supported interfaces (IP, Bluetooth, and USB) to certify a supported vendor's legacy printer for the POS app.

To certify new printer models, first verify if the model is from a supported vendor (Epson or Star). For existing documentation on printer setups and troubleshooting, refer to the relevant [Configure and Manage Printers](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_hardware_configure_printers.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure printers to produce customer documents from the Point of Sale (POS) app. Show the printer name instead of the MAC address.") articles.

Create separate test cases for each interface. For a comprehensive list of test cases, refer to [Files](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_hw_legacy_printers.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5). If you encounter issues while setting up the printer, follow these steps.

1. Confirm that the setup process is correct.
2. Test the printer using the vendor’s app ([TM Utility](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/epson-tm-utility/id726122574) for Epson and [StarQuickSetup](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/star-quick-setup-utility/id1549088652) for Star) available on the App Store.
3. Connect to the printer and check printer operations, including receipt printing.

If the setup is correct but problems persist, verify whether there is an open POS bug. If the issue remains unresolved, contact Salesforce Customer Support.
