Testing Tap to Pay in Non-production Environments with the POS Beta App

Starting with POS version 11.6.1, tap to pay testing requires a separate app in Adyen terminals. Previously, you could test tap to pay transactions in both production and non-production environments using a single app. Adyen’s SDK changes in POS v3.11.0 split environments into AdyenPOSLive for live environments and Adyen POSTEST for test environments. Install the POS app beta app to test Adyen’s tap to pay functionality in a non-production environment.

  • POS app build: 11.6.1
  • Contact your Customer Success Manager to get access to the POS beta app.
Note
Note Use the POS beta app to test only tap to pay transactions in non-production environments. To test features other than tap-to-pay, continue to use the POS app available on TestFlight. You can install and use both the POS app and the POS beta app on the same device. If you have TestFlight installed and automatic updates enabled, the POS beta app updates automatically.
Note
Note To ensure uninterrupted payments, keep the Mobile SDK up to date. As part of Adyen's security policy, each Mobile SDK version expires six months after release. When an iOS Mobile SDK version expires, that version no longer supports card reader PIN transactions. Only tap to pay on the iPhone and card reader transactions without PIN remain available. Make sure to stay informed about Mobile SDK version changes.

Starting with build 11.6.1, to test tap to pay in non-production environments , use the PS POS beta app. For production environments, you can use the PS POS app, built with the LIVE SDK binary, to perform tap to pay transactions.

This table describes which environments support tap to pay transactions.
