# Point of Sale Single Sign-On

Point of Sale Single Sign-On (SSO) lets users sign in with a single set of credentials and access components such as the Content Management System (CMS) and the POS app. Point of Sale supports common identity providers (IdPs), including OneLogin and Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).

## Overview

Point of Sale uses these login concepts:

- Authentication: Verifies a user’s identity (handled by your login provider/IdP).
- Authorization: Grants the authenticated user access to Point of Sale (for example, by adding the user to the CMS user list and assigning the appropriate permissions).

## Single Sign-On for CMS

- Legacy CMS (non-Hyperforce): You can configure CMS SSO directly with supported IdPs such as OneLogin or Azure AD. For more information, see [CMS OneLogin](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_enable_onelogin.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Integrate OneLogin with Point of Sale CMS to validate user credentials during login. After the login information is validated, establish communication with Point of Sale.") and [Azure AD](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_enable_azure_ad.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Enable single sign-on to Point of Sale CMS using Azure Active Directory (AD) and simplify user access management. Configure Azure AD, add users to Point of Sale CMS, and resolve common issues. Users can access the CMS through a custom URL.").
- Hyperforce CMS: To enable SSO for CMS in Hyperforce, you must configure SSO through Salesforce Core. CMS then uses the Salesforce Core SSO configuration. For details on configuring Salesforce Core SSO, see [Single Sign-On (SSO)](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=xcloud.sso_about.htm&language=en_US) in Salesforce Help.

After your administrator configures SSO through Salesforce Core, users sign in to Hyperforce CMS with these steps:

1. Open your CMS link. You land on the Salesforce login page.
2. Enter your company's custom domain, for example `mycompany`.
3. Click **Sign in with SSO**.
4. Enter your SSO credentials.

CMS signs you in.

## Single Sign-On for POS

- Legacy: The POS app supports SSO through OneLogin. For more information, see [POS App OneLogin](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_pos_settings_one_login.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Integrate your Point of Sale (POS) app with OneLogin to validate store associate credentials. Verify secure communication with Salsesforce and streamline user management using your existing identity and access management tools. Configure your OneLogin portal and CMS settings to enable seamless authentication for both online and offline access.").
- Hyperforce: The POS app supports SSO through Salesforce Identity. For more information, see [Configure Salesforce Identity for Point of Sale SSO](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_config_sso_salesforce_identity.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Connect Point of Sale to your identity provider (Azure AD or OneLogin) through Salesforce Identity.").

Store associates access the app using their existing credentials. Maintain associate records for role authentication within Point of Sale CMS. For offline functionality, merchants can provide associates with an offline password.
