# Sync Device Time Zone and Store Time Zone

Prevent store closure failures due to time zone mismatches between POS devices and store locations. For merchants on Salesforce POS build 11.8.1 and later, time zone checks are automatic when associates log in to POS devices. For merchants on builds before 11.8.1, you can manually enforce this time zone check with a CMS setting.

Your store’s postal code and country code are the source of truth for time zones. Make sure you set these fields in your store settings and mapped correctly in your store feed. See [Store Creation Field Descriptions](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_settings_store_creation_field_descriptions.htm&language=en_US) and [Store Feed](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_adv_config_data_feeds_specs_store.htm&language=en_US).

1. In CMS, go **Store Management** | **Store Settings** | **System**.
2. Expand **Rollout**.
3. Turn on **Enforce POS to Match Store Time Zone**.
    
    If the device and store time zones don’t match, the iOS system prompts the associate to update their device time zone before they can log in. Also, all store time zones in CMS update to match their postal code time zone.
