# Reopening a Store

If a store is closed prematurely in Point of Sale CMS, reopen it so associates can create a till.

This section walks you through how to reopen a store in CMS for the same business day if it's been inadvertently closed at the store level.

## Identifying a Store To Be Reopened

If a store has inadvertently closed the store before the actual close of business, the associate receives this error message when attempting to create a till:

“Cash register can’t be opened after performing store close”

## How to Reopen a Store

Any user role can reopen a store in CMS with these steps:

1. Go to **Store Management \\> Stores**.
2. Select the pencil icon to edit the store that needs to be reopened.
3. Select **Open Store** under the **Re-Open Store** section.
4. This update filters down to the respective store. The store associate restarts the application and logs back in to open the store.
