# Registers CMS Configuration and Setup

Set up Point of Sale (POS) registers in CMS so you can turn them on for your store.

## Enable Registers

To enable POS registers, turn on the app setting in your current active app. To do this:

1. In CMS, go to **Apps \\> Store**.
2. Select your active app config.
3. Go to **Modules \\> POS**.
4. Turn on the **Has POS Registers** app config setting.
5. Select **SAVE** to save the app setting.

## Approval Modes for Registers

There are two different approval modes for registers:

- **Pre-Provisioned** — Select this option if you want to enforce what devices can be used as a POS register or if you want to enforce what kind of peripherals you want the POS register to communicate with.
- **Self-Registered** — Select this option if you only want to keep track of all the devices being used as POS registers and were manually self-registered.

## Configure Provisioning Mode

1. In CMS, go to **Store Management \\> POS Store Settings**.
2. Enable **POS Registration Approval Mode**
3. Configure the setting and select **Save**.

## Store Register Number

You can set the starting and ending register numbers within a store.

1. Go to **Store Management \\> Store Settings \\> Store Register**.
2. Click the '**Add**' icon on the right to add the following settings:
    
    - **Store Register \\> Prefix to be used for store register ID**
    - **Store Register \\> Starting number for store register ID**
    - **Store Register \\> Ending number for store register ID**
    
    These settings will be when there's no explicit "Register ID" assigned to a register.
