Setting Up Offline Testing

Simulate offline scenarios in your Point of Sale (POS) app through various testing methods to validate products, tax rates, and store logins.

Device Connected to Wi-Fi But Internet Service Down

  1. Pull the Ethernet cable from your router while keeping it plugged into the powersupply.
  2. If you can't pull down the ethernet cable from your main router, try to see if you can get an alternate router.
    1. Plug an alternate router into power and connect to your main router via an ethernet cable.
    2. Set up the SSID and make sure you're able to connect to this new router on any of your devices and stream the internet.
    3. Pull off the ethernet cable for this alternate router.
    4. You can get your iPad and Adyen terminal on this network to test offline.

Device Disconnected from Wi-Fi Altogether

Turn off the WiFi on your device.

Note
Note You can’t connect to the Adyen terminal using this method. You can still perform everything else

Manual

If none of the preceding solutions work for you, that is, you can't disconnect your router from and can't disconnect from Wi-Fi (in order to test Adyen):

  1. Make sure the offline mode deep link is configured in Point of Sale CMS.
  2. In the app, go to the offline mode deep link and select it. This sets up the app in offline mode.
Note
Note This isn't a real offline situation that you experience in-store, but it helps you check if the products, tax rates, and store logins work in offline mode.
