# Manage Registers

Add, monitor, and maintain POS registers in Point of Sale CMS.

## Accessing the Registers Screen

You can access your store registers in the CMS on the store listing page.

1. Go to **Store Management > Store** to access your store listing.
2. Select **Registers** (cash register icon) for that store listing.

## View Registers Screen

The **View Registers** screen provides you with a view of a store's registers. You can change which store you're looking at by selecting another store from the dropdown menu at the top of the page.

This screen provides visibility of Active Registers, Inactive Registers, and DeletedRegisters.

Tip You can add a new register by clicking **Create** at the top of the page. You can edit an existing register by clicking the edit icon on that register.

## Create and Edit Registers

You must enter a value or all required fields. Refer to POS Activation & Register Setup for more details. After all required fields are filled out, you can save the register by clicking **Save**. Clicking **Cancel** takes you back to the register view page.

The installation ID can be found on the initial activation of the POS app on your device. Make note of that ID and select it when creating the register. Verify between the two IDs as it's case-sensitive.

Note IP address isn't a required field for enabling the register.

Important Selecting ANY won't enforce the restrictions.

## Card Reader Settings

To use a specific Card Reader model (for example, Adyen, Square, or PayPal), serial number, or connect type (Bluetooth, USB, or IP), you can change the settings under Card Reader. Select the model of the Card Reader according to the payment terminal.

Important Selecting ANY for any field won't enforce restrictions.

Tap to Pay — when enabled, accepts contactless payments directly on an iPhone register.

Payment Terminal Topology—if you select 1:N, multiple POS apps can connect to the same payment terminal. This configuration isn’t supported in Bluetooth mode. This setting is also available under Store settings. Because this setting is at the register level, it overrides the Store settings.

## Connect an RFID Reader

Note Only Zebra scanners are supported for RFID.

Run high-volume inventory counts without scanning barcodes. In the RFID Reader section, select the reader, model, and connection type. Then connect your RFID scanner to your register via Bluetooth. See [Zebra Scanner Support](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_hardware_zebra_scanner_support.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure your wired or wireless Zebra scanners in the Point of Sale (POS) to make sure of accurate and efficient barcode scanning.")

.

## Enable External Peripheral Mode for Cash Drawers

1. Go to the register and scroll down to the Cash Drawer section.
2. Set the Connection Type as EXTERNAL\_PERIPHERAL.

## Additional Cash Drawer Settings

If you're using Self-Registered Approval Mode and don't want to reconfigure the registers, you can change the cash drawer's behavior.

1. Go to the register of interest and scroll down to the **Cash Drawer** section.
2. Set **Cash Drawer Mode** POS Store settings (this setting has three possible modes):
    - Disconnected Cash Drawer
        - In this mode, the cash drawer isn’t connected to the POS Register and the POS Register won’t communicate with the cash drawer. This setting prefills the cash payment prompt with the complete order amount for cash payment done from the unified cart.
    - Connected Cash Drawer
        - In this mode, the cash drawer is expected to be connected to the POS Register and the POS Register will attempt to communicate with the cash drawer during cash operations.
    - Cash Drawer Via External URL
        - In this mode, each cash drawer is assigned a specific QR code and it will be used by POS Register to scan and communicate with that cash drawer. POS Register can scan the QR code just in time for the cash handling operation.
