# Point of Sale Sales Audit Position

Maintain accurate transaction records with the sales audit tools that Point of Sale's Point of Sale (POS) system provides. You can also detect errors with order balance, promotions, taxes, and inventory.

Point of Sale provides exports to turn on third-party sales audit functionality and also a growing set of audit tools in the CMS directly. Customers who have a special sales audit tool can add data from POS. This includes order exports, electronic journal transactions, and reconciliation reports to get real time accurate information on transactions. These can also be fed into business intelligence tools or loss prevention modules.

Point of Sale currently provides reconciliation functionality for payment capture and failed orders to confirm that payments received match expected order totals.

In 2024, Point of Sale added audit tools to detect errors with order balances (debits match credits), promotions, taxes, and inventory.
