# Set Up Multiple Search Configurations

Create multiple search configurations in Point of Sale CMS to improve the user search experience.

Prerequisites:

- - Modern Point Of Sale (POS) App Build: 5.7.0 or later.
    - Platform Support: iPhone and iPad

## Create Multiple Search Configurations

Go to **Products > Search Config** and create two [search configurations](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_modules_product_search_settings.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Configure the product search function in the Point of Sale CMS to define the data fields used to match query text in search requests."):

1. **Default**: filters out online items only
2. **OOS**: filters Out of Stock (OSS) items

If configuring Backend Filters, put "" around brands that have a space in them. For example, if the brand is "This Brand", the Backend Filter resembles ""This Brand"".

## Set Multiple Search Configurations

Use these search configurations in a couple of places on Point of Sale CMS.

1. **Deep Link**: On any deep link where product search is used, on the second tab you have an option to select a Search Configuration. On a deeplink, to view OOS items, select the OOS Search Configuration.
2. **Alternate Search Config After Any Filter is Applied**: This is used for filtering out-of-stock products to be shown in the filtered results. After a user searches for an item, results are displayed based on the Default Search Configuration. However, if you want a different behavior when you apply filters, you can select a different search configuration under Search Layout settings.

After configuring the Search Configurations, open the POS app and ‌select the deep links that were set up.
