# Inventory Configuration

Manage inventory settings in Point of Sale to use PredictSpring (Point of Sale), SPI, or Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (SFOCI) as your inventory provider.

Historically, Point of Sale has managed all inventory for online and in-store orders. As part of the 8.10.1 build release, Point of Sale now offers the ability to rely on an external system for online inventory availability. This is available through an SPI endpoint as well as a native integration with Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (SFOCI). This article explains how to go to the configuration screen needed to change providers and any additional toggles associated with inventory checks. For information on SFOCI Integration via CMS, refer to this [Set Up Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (OCI) Integration](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_adv_config_sf_int_oci.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Point of Sale has native integration with Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory (OCI) to do live inventory checks for online orders. Learn how to configure POS and SFOMS to take advantage of this omnichannel capability.").

Retrieving store inventory information is also available with an API, it returns details for queried store and product ID(s).

Note Note, this API accepts multiproduct IDs/store IDs in one call. [Learn more](https://developer.salesforce.com/docs/commerce/retail-cloud/guide/retail-cloud-api-spi-webhook-specs.html#application-programming-interface-api)

### If SFOCI is set as the provider, what's the expected behavior for Ship to Home and Ship to Home from Current Store fulfillment method?

For Ship to Home (Auto Route), Point of Sale checks SFOCI. However, for Ship to Home from Current Store, Point of Sale checks store inventory instead as any in-store fulfillment method uses local inventory.
