# Create Cycle Count in CMS

Create cycle counts in CMS to make sure of accurate inventory management.

Creating a cycle count in CMS will allow the user to specify the parameters of the cycle count for a store to complete. This article explains how to create a cycle count in CMS to be sent to a store to complete. For more information on creating and completing a cycle count in-store on the POS app, refer to this article on [Cycle Counts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_modules_learn_about_cycle_counts_in_retail_cloud.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Understand the distinctions among each Cycle Count type to best suit your retail environment.").

## Creating a Cycle Count in Point of Sale CMS

1. Go to **Inventory > Create Cycle Count**.
2. Select the store from the **Store** dropdown.
3. Input the **Name** and **Description** of the Cycle Count, which will display at the store level.
4. Select the **Start Time** and **Timezone**.
5. Select the **Cycle Count Type** from the these options and add products or categories if applicable:

    - **Manual**: a list of products added individually via Add Products.
    - **Partial**: a list of one or more categories or attributes of products added via Add Categories.
    - **Full**: entire store inventory.
6. Select **Create** to create the cycle count and send it to the store.

The store can access and begin the cycle count created by accessing the **Cycle Count** link in the POS app. For more information on conducting in-store cycle counts, see [Cycle Counts](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_modules_learn_about_cycle_counts_in_retail_cloud.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Understand the distinctions among each Cycle Count type to best suit your retail environment.").

## Creating Partial Cycle Count with Product Attributes

You can create partial cycle counts with categories (for example Clothing, Sale). However, you can also create it with product attributes (for example colors).

1. Go to **Products > Search Config**.
2. Edit or create a new configuration.
3. Under **App Filter Fields**, select a product attribute.
4. Save your changes.
5. Go to **Store Management > Store Settings > Inventory**.
6. Under **Partial Cycle Count Product Attribute**, enter the product attribute you've selected in the previous steps.
7. Save your changes.
8. Go back to creating cycle counts by going to **Inventory > Create Cycle Count.**
9. Under **Cycle Count Type**, select **Partial**.
10. Under **Partial Count Details**, select **Add Product Attribute Values**.
11. A new window appears, allowing you to add or remove product attributes.

If no attribute is entered under **Partial Cycle Count Product Attribute**, regardless if an attribute has been selected or not under **App Filter Fields**, the cycle count defaults to categories instead of product attributes.
