# Test Promotions with Cart Simulator

Safely and quickly check promotions without submitting actual orders in Point of Sale CMS.

## Setting up the Cart

Select a store and associate IDs before adding items to your cart.

Store ID and Associate ID fields can't be changed after items are created in the cart.

## Adding Items

After you select a store and associate to simulate, you can add items by selecting the **ADD ITEMS** link below the store and associate fields. Select your items by selecting the checkbox for your item in the picker popup. You can search by UPC or a relevant product description using the search box.

## Applying a Promotion

Select a promotion from the promotion field. After selecting your promotion that you want to test, select **Apply** to apply the promotion to your current cart. You can apply multiple promotions to see how different promotion discounts stack.

After a valid promotion is applied to your cart, a new card with the promotion discount breakdown will display below the promotion cart. Select the **ORDER LEVEL DISCOUNTS** tab to see how the promotion discount is applied to the total order. Select the **ITEM LEVEL DISCOUNTS** to see how the promotion discount is applied to each item in the cart.

You can remove items or change the quantities of items to view how the promotion discount gets applied.

Note The Cart Simulator feature doesn’t recognize or support store-level pricing.

## Resetting a Cart

After a cart is created with items in it, the **Store ID** and **Associate ID** fields can't be changed. The items in the cart may not be available at another Store ID location.

If you're testing your promotion across different Store IDs, re-create your cart by selecting Reset Cart.
