# Set Up a Chat Layout

Create and assign Point of Sale custom chat layouts to enhance user interaction with brand specialists to find the right products. Easily edit and test layouts to ensure a seamless and engaging chat experience for users.

## Create a Chat Layout

To create a Chat Layout:

1. In CMS, go to **Layouts** | **Layout Settings** | **Chat**.
2. Click **CREATE NEW**.

## Assign a Chat Layout to an App Config

To associate a Chat Layout with an app config:

1. Click **EDIT CONFIG**.
2. Go to **ADVANCED** | **CHAT LAYOUTS**.
3. Select the chat layout name from the dropdown.
4. Click **SAVE**.

## Edit a Chat Layout

To edit the Chat Layout that is associated with an app config:

1. Click **EDIT CONFIG**.
2. Go to **ADVANCED** | **CHAT LAYOUTS**.
3. Click the Edit icon next to the chat layout name.

Note To view, edit, or create chat layouts go to **Layout Pages** | **Layout Settings** | **Chat**.

## Test Changes

After saving changes to the app config or chat layout, the changes are visible after relaunching the app. To test changes without affecting production, use a test app config that is linked to a test chat layout.

1. Save app config or chat layout.
2. Relaunch app.
3. Go to the chat screen.
