# Layout Image Best Practices

Learn about the recommended specifications for images for use in Point of Sale layouts.

Images uploaded through the CMS aren't compressed or altered in any way. While this offers a high degree of flexibility, it can also result in suboptimal performance if users upload images that are unnecessarily large.

These are the best practices image specifications for layouts:

1. use compressed JPG files with a DPI of 72
2. a full-screen image should be no greater than 1,100 pixels in height by 700 pixels in width

2x3 layout

A 698 x 540pt image with corner radius of 15pt on a white background of 768 x 602pt with side padding 30 x 30pt and 40 x 30pt.
