POS offers deep customization through App Config Segmentation. This feature lets retailers tailor the POS experience based on device, personnel roles or associates, and store locations. This enhanced method simplifies configuration and provides granular control over the POS interface for different users and contexts.

    One fundamental capability of POS is how easily and deeply it can be customized. A core component of that configurability, is the App Configuration or, App Config, for short.

    This approach involves directly linking roles and associates to a designated Retail Cloud app config. This method will be deprecated in the future.

    This approach is recommended, especially for new and onboarding merchants. It allows you to segment app configs for Point of Sale based on three criteria: Device Type (iPad vs. iPhone), Personnel (based on role or individual associate), and Location (based on store group or store).
