# Tap to Pay—Security & Limitations

Understand what each payment method requires to maintain customer information safety.

## Credit Card Tendering Restrictions

Only iPhone models XS or later on iOS 16.4 and later support tap to pay with Adyen. For a register configured to use tap to pay that doesn't meet those conditions, you can only use a connected terminal for credit card tendering.

## Payment Method Requirements

Tap to pay requires a credit card to conduct payments. Tap to pay doesn’t support multi-tender payments or transactions that require a pin.

- Unreferenced Refund
- Display Virtual Receipt
- Card Acquisition

## Unsupported Adyen Features

- Tipping
- Mail Order/Telephone Order (Moto)
- Risk configuration
- Capture Delay
- PreAuth
- Gift Cards

## Testing Requirements

For testing this feature with your test Adyen account, you'll need a sandbox. For testing tap to pay in POS 11.6.1 and greater, see [Testing Tap to Pay in Non-Production Environments with the POS Beta App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_ttp_test.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Starting with POS version 11.6.1, tap to pay testing requires a separate app in Adyen terminals. Previously, you could test tap to pay transactions in both production and non-production environments using a single app. Adyen’s SDK changes in POS v3.11.0 split environments into AdyenPOSLive for live environments and Adyen POSTEST for test environments. Install the POS app beta app to test Adyen’s tap to pay functionality in a non-production environment.").
