# Tap to Pay—Test Setup

Test tap to pay in a Point of Sale production environment or sandbox environment by using Adyen Test Cards.

## Setting Up iPhone as Terminal

Production: any iPhone XS model or later. iOS versions 16.4 and later.

Test: Sandboxed iPhone; iOS versions 16.4 and later.

## Test Payments

Request an Adyen Test Card with tap to pay enabled on V2.4 or later from your Adyen account manager. The version of the Adyen card is on the top left of the back side.

Sandboxed iPhone with Test Apple Cards. This means that you need two sandboxed iPhones if you're selecting this option to test.

## Sandboxing Your iPhone

- Create a sandbox test account with an email that’s not already used for an existing Apple ID or Apple Developer account
- Change the account on your device

Make sure to install the TestFlight app on the device and install the latest Point of Sale POS app before switching the Apple ID to a sandbox account.

After you set up a sandbox account, log in to the Apple ID linked to the sandbox account and restart the device to connect to the testing environment.

Important Each time you switch to the Apple ID associated, complete these steps:

    - Restart the device
    - Turn off the passcode
    - Set a new passcode

If you're switching merchants on the POS app by resetting it, you also must reset the Adyen tap to pay after logging into the new merchant.

## Add Test Apple Pay Cards to Sandboxed iPhone

You can find test cards to add from Apple. See [Sandbox Testing](https://developer.apple.com/apple-pay/sandbox-testing/).

## Test Tap to Pay in Non-Production Environments

To test tap to pay in POS 11.6.1 and greater, see [Testing Tap to Pay in Non-Production Environments with the POS Beta App](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.rt_cms_ttp_test.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "Starting with POS version 11.6.1, tap to pay testing requires a separate app in Adyen terminals. Previously, you could test tap to pay transactions in both production and non-production environments using a single app. Adyen’s SDK changes in POS v3.11.0 split environments into AdyenPOSLive for live environments and Adyen POSTEST for test environments. Install the POS app beta app to test Adyen’s tap to pay functionality in a non-production environment.").
