# Offline Behavior - Portugal

Due to Portuguese regulations, printing receipts in offline mode is unavailable. Transactions are fiscalized when the system is online. Store associates enter the paper receipt number from the preprinted receipt given to the customer into the Point of Sale (POS) app.

Printing receipts in offline mode isn't allowed in Portugal, as transactions are only fiscalized when the system is online and synchronized. After synchronization, receipts can be printed from the Order History. To comply with this requirement, the store must issue paper receipts that are preprinted with receipt information.

In offline mode, store associates must enter the paper receipt number given to the customer on the app. This manual receipt number, derived from the handwritten preprinted receipt book, will be recorded in the Order tLog and the SAFT file under the label 'manualReceiptId.' This receipt will include a reference to the paper receipt provided to the customer.

Customers can request this receipt after the system is back online. However, during offline mode, the store will issue one of the handwritten preprinted receipts with a receipt number on it. ATCUD will display as zero in the staging environment but will show an actual alphanumeric code in the production environment.
