Control user access in Point of Sale CMS with roles and permissions. Each CMS user has a role that determines their permissions.
CMS Roles
CMS offers four role options:
-
CMS Admin: Full edit access to everything, including adding and removing users. Assign this role to someone who manages the entire CMS, like a store owner or IT manager.
-
CMS Power User: Full edit access to everything except User Management. Assign this role to someone who runs day-to-day operations, like a merchandising manager, but doesn't need to manage other users.
-
CMS Support: View-only access to everything. Assign this role to a support team for investigating issues in CMS.
-
Custom: A role with permissions that a CMS Admin defines. Assign this role when the predefined roles don't fit, like a marketing associate who only needs to edit promotions. Only a CMS Admin can create a custom role, from in CMS.
CMS Role Permissions
Each role's permissions determine which CMS pages a user can access. All CMS users can access the Products and Stores pages, regardless of role. For every other page, a user's role assigns one of three permission types:
- None: The user can't see the page.
- View: The user can see the page but can't make changes.
- Edit: The user can view and edit the page's resources.
The table lists each permission type and its related CMS pages.
