# Alternate Store IDs

Use the Alternate Stores ID field in Point of Sale to assign multiple stores to an associate that works at multiple stores.

By default, an associate is linked to a store by a Store ID. If you have an associate that works at multiple stores, you can use the Alternate Stores ID field to assign multiple stores to that associate.

Defining Alternate Store IDs means that associates can log in to registers at those stores. For Store Managers who manage many stores, adding this value lets them do Manager Override functions in all the stores listed.
