- Access New JavaScript Features and Functionality with the Latest Compatibility Mode
When you select compatibility mode 21.2, the B2C Commerce Server-Side JavaScript engine supports elements from ECMAScript 6 (ES6) and later. With compatibility mode 21.2, you can access numerous fixes and new and expanded features, including new top-level built-in types and methods for existing classes. - Assign Customer Names when Creating External Profiles with OCAPI
When creating an external customer profile with the OCAPI Shop API/dw/shop/v21_2/customers/ext_profileendpoint, you can now specify a first name and last name. - Determine Whether a Customer Has an External Profile
If your client application authenticates customers through an external Identification Provider (IDP) such as Google or Facebook, each customer needs an external profile. You can now make a GET call to the Shop API customers/ext_profile endpoint to determine whether customer has an external profile. - Manage Inventory with Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory
You can support real-time availability for your storefront experiences by integrating with the new Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory product. B2C Commerce provides a seamless native integration that you can configure using clicks, not code. - A Unique ID Was Added to Log Files for Jobs
The name of the log file for a job executed in the new job framework now includes a unique ID. - Use Strong Authentication as Required for Some Business Manager Modules
For security reasons, starting with Release 21.3, you must use strong authentication, such as through Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) with Account Manager, to access certain Business Manager modules. In Release 21.2, a warning message appears if you try to access these modules without using strong authentication. - A New Quota and Logging for Objects Embedded in HTML Attributes Were Added
Starting with Release 21.3, only users with strong authentication, such as through MFA with Account Manager, can include objects embedded with iframe, object, applet, or embed tags into HTML attributes. A new quota implemented in Release 21.2,api.object.EmbeddedObjectInHTMLAttributeUserWithoutStrongAuth, helps you to prepare for the upcoming 21.3 restriction. Use the new quota to see if you have objects embedded in HTML attributes and if so, make sure that users who embed such objects use strong authentication. - Deleted Impex and Temp Files No Longer Being Retained in Trash Folders for 30 Days
As previously announced, updated file retention rules are applied to files in the /Logs, /Securitylogs, /Impex, and /Temp folders. During the transition period to these new rules, some instances used /Impex/_trash and /Temp/_trash folders to retain deleted files for 30 days. The transition period ends with the 21.2 release for POD sandbox and primary instances. /Impex and /Temp files are now deleted without first being moved to the _trash folders. - Add Product Sets as Qualifying or Discounting Conditions for Promotions
You can add product sets as qualifying or discounting conditions to all promotion rules, except for the Choice of Bonus Product rule. When you add Product Set ID as a qualifying or discounting condition, any product belonging to that set can trigger the promotion and receive a discount from the promotion, or both. The only exception is that a Choice of Bonus Product rule promotion can’t use a product set to define the bonus products. - Use the Profile Connector API
The Salesforce Profile Connector API is generally available as of February 22, 2021.
