# Archive Long File Names During System Import Jobs

The system import job steps can create long file names that exceed some file system length limits, which caused problems when archiving files. You can now use Archive in Subfolders mode or Archive Overwrite Existing mode during system import jobs.

How: To avoid file length restrictions, use `AfterImportFilehandling`.

When running a system import job with `AfterImportFilehandling = archive`, use Archive in Subfolders to generate archive files in subfolders. This pattern is used for the subfolders: `<jobID>/<stepID>/<timestamp_filename>.xml`. It resolves issues with long file names that violate file system rules for length.

Use Archive Overwrite Existing mode to overwrite files with the same name. This mode moves the files to the archive without a generated prefix.
