Standing up Order Management by hand means working through dozens of Setup pages. You turn on Order Management, configure sharing, and connect a storefront. With headless Order Management, an admin can do that work in a conversation. The agent handles the sequence and gathers only what it needs. The admin confirms each phase and keeps a record of every action. Prefer a sandbox for a first run.
Scenario
Cloud Kicks is going live with Order Management in a new region. Sam, a Salesforce admin, must stand up Order Management in a fresh org before the go-live date. Setup requires turning on Order Management and configuring sharing for order-related objects. Then a storefront connection needs to be created and verified. Those hours of navigation leave plenty of room for a missed step. Instead, Sam asks the AI client to set up Order Management. The agent confirms that the org is a sandbox and works through setup in phases, confirming each phase before it moves on. It turns on Order Management, updates access for order-related objects, and connects the B2C Commerce storefront. Sam reviews each phase and allows the tenant linkage in Business Manager. Order Management is ready when the Order Integration status is Provisioned, with a record of everything that the agent did.
Requirements
Complete the shared setup in AI Agent Use Cases for Order Management.
This use case also needs:
- A Salesforce Order Management license provisioned on the target org.
- The System Administrator profile (or the equivalent) for the connected user.
- If you're connecting a storefront, the B2C Commerce connection name and instance name.
Agentic Tips
- Describe your goal in your own words. For example:
- "Set up Order Management in my org."
- "Set up Order Management and connect my B2C Commerce storefront."
- Tell the agent whether the org is a sandbox or production. If you're connecting a storefront, include the B2C Commerce connection name and instance name.
- Have the agent detect the org and confirm the environment before it acts. It then works through setup phase by phase.
- Approve each phase. Confirm the phase before the agent proceeds.
- Avoid pasting credentials into a prompt. The agent acts as your authenticated user through the connected org.
