A cart contains three products, but 12 items in total.

  • Product1: One item with a unit price of $110. The tax rate is 10%. There’s a 20% off promotion for this item.
  • Product2: One item with a unit price of $120. The tax rate is 20%. There’s a 20% off promotion and a $12 off coupon promotion for this item.
  • Product3: Ten items with a regular unit price of $99. The tiered promotion price is $88 each when you order 10 or more. The tax rate is 10%.

The total tax is $102.

  • Product1: (110-22)*.10/(1+0.10) = $8 tax
  • Product2: (120-24-12)*.20/1+.20) = $14 tax
  • Product3: (10*88)*.10/(1+0.10) = $80 tax
