You can manually configure Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory or a third-party inventory service if you don’t want to use the Commerce Setup Assistant.
Required Editions
Note To enable inventory, the Web Store Inventory Source field-level security permission for
the Enabled field is required. You can configure settings and select a provider without this
permission.
- In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the Store dropdown.
- Select Settings | Store, and click Inventory.
-
Enter general provider settings.
- Location Source: Default location or location group for inventory reservations. Required.
- Inventory Dimension: Fulfillment options.
- On Hand: Inventory available, not counting Future Inventory or Quantity Reserved.
- Available to Fulfill (ATF): Inventory that can be fulfilled now.
- Available to Order (ATO): Inventory that can be ordered. Default option if no dimension is selected.
- Reservation Duration (Seconds): Amount of time a reservation is held between 300 and 14,400 seconds. Required.
- Inventory Cache Time To Live (Seconds): Amount of time inventory values are kept in the cache. When the time expires, the cache doesn’t return a value for the requested inventory key and a new inventory value is requested. Must be between 300 and 14,400 seconds. The default setting is 2400 seconds.
-
Click Save.
Fields that aren’t required are filled with default values if left blank.
- Configure Salesforce Omnichannel Inventory or create an extension point to connect your custom inventory provider. See Get Started with Salesforce Commerce Extensions.
- To turn on inventory, click Turn On.
You can use AppExchange package to integrate a third-party service. If you prefer to integrate a third-party service without using AppExchange, see examples in GitHub.
