# Configure Self-Registration for a B2B Store

When you enable self-registration, customers can create their own account and then log in to your store using that account instead of browsing as a guest.

If you configure your Salesforce org by using the Commerce Setup Assistant and enable Person Accounts, self-registration is automatically enabled when you create a store. There's no need to manually enable self-registration if it’s already enabled.

These steps describe how to enable self-registration if you want to do so manually.

1. Before configuring self-registration, add the Self-Registration component and publish the initial draft of your store.

Publishing your store doesn’t make it available to shoppers. The store isn’t available to shoppers until you activate it.

    1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the **Store** dropdown.
    2. Select **Website Design**, and then click **Experience Builder**.
    3. On your store’s Register page, add the Self-Registration component.
    4. In the upper-right corner of the Experience Builder page, click **Publish**.

You receive an email when the store is published.
2. Set up a site membership.
    1. Click ![Setup](https://sf-zdocs-cdn-prod.zoominsoftware.com/tdta-commerce-comm-264-0-0-production-enus/d863e308-482a-4dfa-8d20-2a94737d394a/resources-global/_corporate/images/gear.png) at the top of the page, and then select **Setup**.
    2. In the Quick Find box, enter Digital Experiences, and select **All Sites**.
    3. Next to your site, click **Workspaces**.
    4. Select **Administration** | **Members**.
    5. From the search list, select **All**.
    6. From the list of available profiles, select the customer profiles that you want to add, and click **Add**.
    7. Click **Save**.
3. Configure and enable self-registration.
    1. In the navigation sidebar, select a store from the **Store** dropdown.
    2. Go to **Settings** | **Store**, and select **Buyer Access**.
    3. Go to **Self Registration** | **Profile** and select which customer profiles can self-register.
    4. (Optional) To set permissions, select a permission set group.
    5. Select an account record type.

If you haven’t enabled person accounts, you can select only the business account record type or any child record type of a business account. See [Create a Buyer for a B2B Store from a Person Account](https://help.salesforce.com/s/articleView?id=commerce.comm_person_buyer_accounts.htm&release=264.0.0&type=5 "One way to add a buyer is to enable a person account as a buyer account and a customer user. The individual identified in the person account has access to stores related to the account’s buyer group. When you enable a person account as a buyer, you can't convert the person account to a business account. You also can't merge the account with other accounts. To merge or convert the account, you must disable it as a buyer, merge or convert the account, and then reenable it as a buyer.").
    6. (Optional) Select the default buyer groups.

You can assign self-registering guests to up to 20 account-based buyer groups.

If no default buyer group is selected, self-registering users won’t be automatically added to any group. You can manually assign them to a buyer group later.
    7. Turn on self-registration.
    8. Save your changes.
